Leone Murray plays Rock With Your Docs, pledges $10,000 to Kincardine Hospital

June 24, 2024

They came, they gave, they rocked—and James Leone and Aaron Murray were thrilled to be a part of the fun. The Leone Murray LLP Partners on Friday played the 2024 edition of Rock With Your Docs at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine Ont.—a fundraiser in support of the Kincardine & Community Health Care Foundation—with their funk and soul cover band Franks and Beans.

The two long-time hobby musicians were joined on stage by bandmates Corby Fine on drums, Jon Abrams on bass and vocalist Logan Cooper. In addition to playing at Rock With Your Docs, Leone Murray LLP donated two sets of four Blue Jays tickets that were auctioned in support of the hospital foundation.

And we’re very proud to announce that our firm has pledged to donate $10,000 to the Kincardine Hospital’s capital campaign. The donation will help to fund an expansion of the community hospital—a project that includes expanded lab services, a larger emergency department, an enlarged medical imaging unit and improved admissions and waiting areas. The hospital serves a wide swath of the Municipality of Kincardine including Kincardine, Southampton, Port Elgin and Goderich.

“Being part of Rock With Your Docs was an amazing experience,” Aaron Murray said. “The audience was electric and knowing we were able to give back to a community that we serve made the evening even more special. Having roots in Central Ontario brought the importance of the show closer to home. So did being able to mix and mingle after our performance with the local families who this fundraising will help support.”

James Leone was moved by the local community’s dedication to supporting the Kincardine & Community Health Care Foundation and expanding access to much-needed medical services in the region. The Foundation is tasked with raising $18 million to fund the hospital additions.

“It’s inspiring to see this tight-knit community come together to work towards a common goal—and having a great time doing it,” Leone explained. “An expanded Kincardine Hospital will not only change lives, but will help save them. The work these incredible medical professionals do each day ties into the work we do as personal injury lawyers, so being part of a line-up of fantastic bands helping to achieve this ambitious fundraising goal was a real pleasure.”

In January, the Kincardine & Community Health Care Foundation received its largest-ever personal gift of $250,000 over five years from local physician Dr. Jason Murray (no relation to Leone Murray LLP’s Aaron Murray), his wife Stacey and their son Matthew. As the Foundation notes, “Dr. Murray, is a local physician, hospital advocate, and member of the campaign team who grew up in the area and wanted to give back to his local hospital.”

Guitarist Leone and keyboardist Murray regularly play fundraiser events in the communities that our firm serves across Central and Southern Ontario. Leone Murray LLP maintains offices in Southamption (only minutes from Kincardine), Collingwood, Haliburton and our head office in Toronto. Other communities that we serve include Saugeen Shores, Port Elgin, Owen Sound, Meaford, Thornbury, Wasaga Beach, Haliburton County, Kawartha Lakes and Algonquin Highlands.

Stay tuned for news about the next Franks and Beans show, coming soon.
